IMPACT Fund

The Impact Fund  provides grants to nonprofits and schools in Northern Colorado to support programs that directly teach the principles of entrepreneurship and/or philanthropy to K-12 students.

Impact Fund Requirements

In order to be considered for a grant through the Impact Fund, the request should meet the following criteria: 
  • The organization must be recognized by the IRS as a 501c3 public charity (public schools do qualify under their school district EIN)
  • The program itself directly teaches principles of entrepreneurship and/or philanthropy to students, or to educators who will relay those principles to students
  • The purpose of the program is related to teaching principles of entrepreneurship and/or philanthropy
  • The program serves participants located in either Larimer or Weld County of Colorado

Grant Cycle and Details

  • The Impact Fund has two application deadlines annually: April 30 and October 30.
  • Pre-Applications for the April 2024 Impact Fund are due March 30, 2024 by 10 PM MST
  • Applications will be reviewed after each deadline and award notifications will be sent with 45 days.
  • Grant awards typically range between $1,000 and $25,000 depending on program reach and scope. If your Pre-Application submission meets fund criteria, we will discuss/suggest a suitable request amount/range.

Funding Requirements & Limitations

  • An organization may receive a grant from the Impact Fund once per calendar year.
  • Grant recipients are required to submit a grant report upon program completion. Reports must be submitted prior to application for subsequent grants. 
  • Organizations may receive funding for three consecutive calendar years, and then must take a one year break before applying for additional funding.
  • All grant recognition should be attributed to OtterCares Foundation. Approved logos and brand guidelines will be provided via email, upon request.
Please be advised that OtterCares does not currently fund for the following:  

  • Political campaigns and/or legislative lobbying efforts
  • Reproductive choice advocacy groups
  • Direct support for individuals
  • Building/construction projects
  • General operating support/unrestricted funds
  • Travel expenses
  • Organizations redirecting funding outside of Larimer or Weld counties
