Pack2School 2012

On Friday, August 10 at the Northside Aztlan Community Center in Fort Collins, Pack2School provided a fun-filled day for local families to start the school year right. Thanks to the support of many local agencies and over 200 volunteers, we were able to provide backpacks and school supplies to more than 1700 Poudre School District Students.

Pack2School Purpose

The start of a new school year provides excitement and anticipation; picking out new school supplies adds to the fun. Unfortunately, finding affordable school supplies creates a challenge for thousands of families in Northern Colorado. Staying true to our mission of educating and empowering youth, OtterCares provides school supplies for students who qualify for the Free and Reduced Lunch program in the Poudre School District. At a one-day, fun-filled event, we fulfill basic school supply needs for qualifying families based on a compilation of lists from each grade and school.

Pack2School History

Pack2School (P2S) is an annual backpack and school supply giving event. Founded in 1973 by the Education and Life Training Center in Fort Collins, Colorado, the program provides free backpacks and school supplies to children in need throughout the Poudre School District. After nearly 40 years, ELTC was unable to support Pack2School in 2011. However, with the help of ELTC, OtterBox employees, local businesses, nonprofit organizations and community volunteers, OtterCares adopted Pack2School in 2011 and will continue to expand the event in future years.
